Tasting Notes
Richly concentrated and complex . A wine that combines impressive wild black cherries, black currant and cassis with some hints of mint, cedar, clove, tobacco and spices. Ripe and generous in the palate, sweet fruity flavours, fleshy and powerful, followed by dark bitter chocolate, cigar box and fine structured tannins
Colchagua Valley
Colchagua's wine production dates back to many decades when during Spanish occupation of the region, Jesuits missionaries established small vineyard near the coast for use during mass. Colchagua's fame however is fairly recent. Small wine producers settled here during the early late 80's to early 90's and together joined forces to establish a common identity and standard for the art of wine making. Just a bit over a decade later, the result is the birth of new breeds of wines seducing the most demanding enthusiasts and growingly obtaining awards at the most competitive international winery events. Though highly specialized and growingly famous, wineries in Colchagua are rather small, each developing its own specialties. Main grapes include mostly of Bordeaux origin where the fine and delicate Merlots are becoming star players.
